Hi family, friends, and supporters,

We are raising funds for the MDK Training Basketball Development / MDK Lions Basketball team and our spring AAU season. With your support, we will be able to attend various tournaments throughout the CSRA and beyond, provide transportation to and from games, lodging when participating in long-distance tournaments, equipment used to improve skills, practice time at different facilities, and other costs associated with our success now and in the future. As a grassroots basketball organization, we rely heavily on the community for support; without you, we are only an idea, and we intend on being so much more for the youth in Augusta and the surrounding areas.

Our organization serves local boys and girls in Richmond County and nearby areas. This includes students from Tutt Middle School, Grovetown High School, Hornsby Middle School, and many others. Through sports, we hope to use basketball to teach life skills. These skills include time management, accountability, discipline, respect, focus, and attention. All are important for students to be prosperous academically and upstanding citizens.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, 72.2% of the students in our state attend title 1 schools, and 72.8% are economically disadvantaged, with an average graduation rate of 85% statewide, which shows a positive correlation between support-based activities, be it government or community relations. Another way to promote continued academic success would be through physical activity, which has been linked to increased classroom performance.

Overall, we want MDK Training Basketball Development / MDK Lions to be a safe haven for children throughout the CSRA.

  • At the moment we are not a 501c3 organization. However, we are working to obtain the status.

  • All donations will go towards our operating cost. Such as, equipment, transportation and travel expense, gym time, lodging for away games, and tournament fees.

    when we begin to hold camps we will seek more volunteers.
